Health & Safety Officer
 
We are currently recruiting a Health and Safety Officer, Candidate will be responsible for formalising and improving existing company systems, procedures and documentation in accordance with our ISO;9001 System
 
Candidate will be responsible for implementing our H&S policy The role will include providing training of staff in the safe and proficient use of various Horticultural machines and techniques.
 
A PSCS qualifications in Health and Safety Management or Horticulture are essential.
Past experience of design and implementation of Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems in Horticultural / Construction Industry and advantage.
 
 
The Role will entail:
  • Provide advice, guidance and instruction in all health & safety matters to management, and employees (including sub-contractors where appropriate).
  • Monitoring compliance on all live sites, particular emphasis on Health & Safety
  • Evaluating and Monitoring compliance on all sub contractors on sites
  • Advising / assisting site management in drafting and communicating Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Tool Box Talks
  • Delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or sub-contractors.
  • Conduct regular inspections and site audits, and report findings to site and senior company management
  • Ensure that all accidents are reported, recorded and investigated and that suitable notification is given to appropriate parties as required.
  • Compiling relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File.
  • Other ad hoc support roles.
Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification in H&S
  • Previous experience in safety management an advantage
  • Excellent communication, leadership, training and presentation skills.
  • Experience in the Horticultural/construction industry.
