Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a midlands based Designer and Manufacturer of heavy engineering solutions primarily developing equipment for the crushing/screening & recycling sector. Due to continued success and growth, they are now looking to find a Senior Design Engineer to join the team.
You will be responsible for the design and development of new and existing heavy equipment including assistance prior to and following commissioning of plant. You will enjoy the challenge of developing new products, finding more efficient and cost-effective methods of design and performance and ultimately delivering world class products that serve our clients expanding global customer base.
You will:
  • Produce full 3D Design proposal and fabrication package (drawings and BOMs) for new and current products. – working with an established team of Intermediate and Junior Engineers.
  • Work with the commissioning team to ensure correct installation and address customer queries.
  • Assist in the resolution of problems at the root cause quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure all products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability.
You will have:
  • 3rd Level Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/industrial Engineering,
  • 7+ yrs practical design experience in heavy equipment plant design. (sheet metal parts and weldments)
  • Strong IT Skills
  • Be competent in the use of Solidworks / ProEngineer
  • A good technical knowledge of Mechanical Electrical and hydraulic systems
  • A good understanding of the various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.

  • Being a strong motivator with excellent communication skills, you will be fully conversant on modern design practices.
  • Being able to cultivate a team spirit with the respect of others’ ideas and requirements.
  • Creativity and innovative thinking.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks / projects at one time
  • Excellent Presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold relevant permission to be employed full time in the Republic of Ireland
