 Quantity Surveyor (PQS) sought for Retail and Commercial refurbishment projects. Office based position based in Westmeath

Quantity Surveyor (PQS)

our client is a Large International Cost Management & Project Management company and chartered quantity surveyors with a head office in Ireland. Due to increased business and success, they are seeking a Quantity Surveyor (PQS) to join their office in County Westmeath. You will need to be MRICS qualified with circa 3 - 5 years’ experience with a firm of PQS or similar as there will be a need to all PRE CONTRACT duties as well as post contract work.
Experience of cost plans as well as contract administration and you will have a stable work record and have previous experience of Retail stores, Commercial Buildings or similar projects.
Retail and Commercial experience
 
  • Quantity Surveyor with 3 - 5 years’ experience in a professional practice
  • Use of computerised bill production
  • Proven track record of bringing projects to a satisfactory conclusion and within budget
  • Be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with a busy team
The Role:
 
  • Take control of, and manage from inception through to completion one or more projects depending on size and complexity
  • Assist in the preparation of initial budgets and cost plans
  • Prepare works tender packages, analyse and compare on quotations received, make recommendations for appointment
  • Complete sub-contract documentation in accordance with company procedures
  • Manage work packages from appointment through to final account including certifying payments and issuing the appropriate notices as required by the sub-contract
  • Monitoring works packages against budget, assessing variation claims and preparing reports for Client
  • Submitting timely requests for payment, agreement of these with Client’s representative where appropriate and ensuring payments are received in accordance with agreed timescales
  • Internal cost reporting
  • Final account submissions, assessment and negotiations
Salary: 45k – 65k (DOE)
