Senior Automation Engineer is being recruited by an organisation involved in Automation, Process Control and Instrumentation. This fast-growing company is a leading supplier of products and services to several sectors in the Irish market with a particular expertise in the water and power industries.  The Automation Engineer will be initially working on large utilities projects with an experienced Engineer but will ultimately transition to the projects team supporting clients throughout the Country.

Your role will involve:
  • Assisting in controls and automation designs for projects related to the Water and Waste water industry
  • Preparation of project documentation including FDS and OMM's.
  • Assisting sales in the generation costings for projects
  • Systems, Software and Electrical Drawings
  • Managing all aspects of the control systems within projects & ensure all aspects are completed on time and within budget
  • Designing and programming/implementing of PLC/HMI/SCADA/Telemetry systems
  • Testing of control panels and automation systems including FAT and SAT
  • Technical support to existing customers
In this role you will take ownership of smaller projects and work as part of a team on larger projects while liaising with clients, project managers and system vendors.

What you need to be successful:
  • PLC Programming experience  Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB
  • 5 years’ experience
  • SCADA experience ICONICS, Intouch, Wonderware, WinCC
  • Qualified with Electrical/Automation/ Control Level 8 degree
  • Experience in technical and hands on roles
  • A strong understanding of industrial control systems, willing to learn and capable of learning in live project environments
  • Experience of working with electrical equipment
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of object orientated programming
  • Proficient at communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels, coupled with excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Strong customer relationship management skills
Instrumentation and Measurement experience would be a distinct advantage as would Water and Power Systems experience. Some Project Management experience would also be beneficial.
