Our client is one of the Middle East’s leading Structural Steel, Architectural Metalwork and Glazing companies operating in 4 countries with over 300 employees.
As part of their portfolio they offer dedicated manufacturing, installation and support services across the UAE and are currently seeking to appoint a Production Manager/ Metal Shop Manager to undertake a key role.
There will be considerable opportunity to impact on improvements within the area as well as looking at multi-skilling and capital projects.
The role of Production Manager/ Metal Shop Manager will be varied and necessitate both a strong technical understanding of metal and glass component production (fabrication / assembly / fitting) coupled with experience of driving change / improvements.
You will have responsibility for planning, coordination and control of manufacturing / installing and maintaining processes to ensure efficient, on time delivery to clients at the right cost and quality levels whilst ensuring adequate staffing levels and skills are in place to meet customer demand.
You will have considerable scope within production with responsibility for:
Day to day organization and control of factory staff to ensure manufacturing targets are achieved on time and to budget both in premises and at the sites of any client based operation.
Development of our manufacturing processes through motivation, leadership, disciplining and multi-skilling of all staff ensuring machines, systems and products are maintained effectively to minimise downtime, reduce programmes and eliminate delays or failures.
Ensuring health and safety regulations and guidelines are followed ;
Assessing current internal operations and identifying areas for improvement within the factories /metal shop, reduction of downtime, change overs and new technology ...
To succeed in this role you will need to be an experienced Production Manager, apprentice trained or qualified in a fabrication/engineering (or related discipline) with a leadership / supervision background with a sound appreciation of fabrication and machining techniques.
The ability to be hands on and lead by example when required coupled with a sound appreciation of mechanical manufacturing processes required.
Likely to suit individuals with a background as (but not limited to: Production Manager, Machine Shop Leader, Works Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Metal Shop Supervisor, Fabrication Manager or similar.
